Oh what a night! We can’t thank you enough!

We love working with the Samaritans and so nice to be able to share with you some feedback that we receieved from a recent event we organised.

"Oh what a night! We can’t thank you enough for the insightful, funny, honest and did I mention funny evening spent with four people from the Speakers Collective.

We are the Cambridge Samaritan and were joined by Jon, Juliette, Adrian and Dave. The poor weather was totally insignificant as we all ‘Zoomed’ in to hear the experiences of calling ‘The Samaritans’.

It is unusual to get more than 20-30 people able to attend a session put on by the branch BUT this night there were 87 of us, all sitting in our square boxes, working out who would be the first to be told ‘you’re on mute!’ It was me!

What followed was a professional, funny (I did mention funny didn’t I?) honest, genuine discussion. The Speakers Collective have clearly found an extremely important niche to fill in the ‘mental health’ arena, and they fill it with great candour and genuine heartfelt experience.

We will not hesitate to ask them to visit our branch again, this time bringing their legs along to the event and possibly enjoying some of the sites of Cambridge.

From all of us at the Cambridge Branch THANK YOU. You have given us a great deal to think about, many conversations to have, many ideas to circulate and a great deal to feel proud of as a Listening Volunteer."
